Davis Pleased Coventry Are Back Home

Boss previews this weekend's big game at the bottom of League One

Steve Davis says he is pleased that Coventry City have been able to return to the Ricoh Arena after being forced out to play at Northampton Town.

The Sky Blues have been given a lift by the appointment of Tony Mowbray as their new manager, but they still need a point to be absolutely certain of playing League One football again next season. It all adds to the excitement with two games remaining and boss Steve Davis says there are few better stadiums around the Football League than the Ricoh Arena.

Ahead of this weekend’s fixture, Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Tony has come in to Coventry and given the place a lift. We has got the players going and they are close to securing their League One status.

“Tony has gone in and stamped his own ideas on things, but I am sure we will have to wait until next season to see his team. He will use this season as a chance to assess things and rebuild a bit. It will be more his team and philosophy next season.

“They have certainly become more resilient with Tony at the helm. They have improved defensively and they have some good players there.

He added: “I am pleased that they are back at the Ricoh, because that is their home and where they want to play. Players want to play at fantastic stadiums and there are not many arenas as good as theirs in the Football League.“
