Defender ahead of schedule after knee operation

Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis has revealed that Harry Davis is progressing well after undergoing surgery on his knee. The Crewe defender will not play again this season but the Alex boss says that he could be on course to return in time for pre-season in July.

Davis suffered the injury in training and needed a slight operation to tighten a ligament in his knee, but the central half has now returned to the club’s training ground and is undergoing some light exercises to help with his upper body conditioning.

Steve Davis has revealed that the former Academy graduate is ahead of schedule. He said: “Harry has been into the training ground and has been doing some light training with the weights.

“He is making good progress and the physios are pleased with him. He is ahead of schedule and we are hoping that he could be back with us at some point in pre-season. He is positive and will work hard to get back as soon as he can.”
