Alex boss says a deal could be close

Boss Steve Davis has told crewealex.net that the club are getting closer to making their first signing of the summer. Davis has been keen to conduct his business quickly during the summer break, and is now hopeful that there may be some movement soon.

The Alex manager confirmed to the club’s official website that he is in advanced talks with two players, and is hopeful that a deal will be concluded over the next week.

Steve told crewealex.net: “We are very close with a couple of players and there has been a lot of speculation about who those players are, whether that is right or wrong will remain to be seen.

“Hopefully we can complete those deals over the next week. We want to add to the squad and started this process as soon as the season finished. Right the way through May we have been trying to recruit.

“It hasn’t been easy but hopefully we can get the players in soon and begin the work with them right away and that is the reason for doing the business early.”
