Davis Back For The Alex

Steve Davis has a selection headache to decide spine of his team

A fit Harry Davis will be considered for selection this weekend after successfully making a return from a knee injury for the club’s Development squad on Tuesday. Davis, who was named club captain in pre-season has not featured this season after picking up the injury on the eve of the new campaign.

Manager Steve Davis also has a selection headache to make in midfield and attack with Billy Bingham ruled out with a hamstring injury and Marcus Haber away on International duty with Canada. Loan signing Harry Wilson is also away on International duty for the Wales Under-21 squad.

The likes Chris Atkinson, George Cooper and Lauri Dalla Valle are all hopeful of being given a chance to stake their claim.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Harry is fine and will come back into the squad. He will be under consideration and having him back from injury will make our squad stronger.

“Chris is also determined to do with well. If he comes into it then he certainly won’t weaken the team. The same could be said of Lauri and George, they are eager to get back into the team and do well.”
