Dalla Valle Back From Hamstring Strain

30 January 2015

LDV is back from a slight hamstring strain and he could form an exciting partnership with top scorer Ajose

Lauri Dalla Valle has shaken off a tight hamstring injury to declare himself fit for tomorrow’s visit of MK Dons. The Finnish striker Dalle Valle was not risked for the Cheshire Senior Cup tie against 1874 Northwich on Tuesday evening. He worked on his rehabilitation instead and has trained over the last two days to make himself available for selection.

Dalle Valle, who has signed an 18-month contract with the club, has been restricted to three substitute appearances during his second stint with the Railwaymen.

With Uche Ikpeazu moving to Doncaster this week there is a place up for grabs in one of the attacking positions. Dalle Valle will be battling it out for that starting role alongside Nicky Ajose, with the likes of Marcus Haber, Brad Inman, and youngsters George Cooper and Callum Saunders.

Steve Davis told crewealex.net: “Lauri has had a bit of a tight hamstring so we didn’t risk him on Tuesday evening.

He has recovered from that after having a few days off training and he is fine now.

“He has suffered no ill effects from that and although we were disappointed to lose Uche when we did, we still have options.

“I bought Lauri in with the potential of pairing him with Nicky and when they have trained together they have looked sharp and work well together. It is something different but an exciting proposition.

“They could be a good partnership but we have other players who can come in and do a job as well.”
