Crewe To Check On Trio

Boss to assess fitness of Grant, Oliver and Osman ahead of Good Friday clash

Crewe Alexandra will assess the fitness of midfielders Anthony Grant and Abdul Osman and forward Vadaine Oliver ahead of Friday’s crucial game at Shrewsbury Town.

Boss Steve Davis is hoping to have the trio to choose from, especially Grant, who has been in inspirational form of late.

Grant was excused training after his quad tightened up after our 2-0 defeat to Wolves on Saturday. The former Stevenage and Southend man certainly put a shift in against the League’s top team especially after Chuks Aneke was sent-off on the verge of half-time.

Grant was named man-of-the-match by the sponsors for his performance and Davis expects his influential midfielder to be fit to face the Shrews.

Vadaine Oliver has a sore groin but he is expected to train tomorrow to declare himself fit. Abdul Osman missed the Wolves game after aggravating his knee in the Under-21 fixture against Sheffield Wednesday. The midfielder is rated as a doubt for the Easter fixtures.

and Chuks Aneke who is suspended following his red card against Wolves. Crewe are definitely without Harry Davis (knee), winger Ryan Colclough (hernia)
