Crewe Alex Transfer Round-Up...

1 September 2015

All the ins and outs during summer 2015

Crewe Alexandra have seen a steady number of ins and out this summer, and with the with the transfer window now closed, it's time to recap on all the business done at Gresty Road.

INS
SEVEN have come through the doors this summer. Fans were made to wait until July to see the first action in the market, but then two came in just one day - just like those London buses!
Billy Bingham joined on a free after his contract at Dagenham expired and there was also a move for Swansea City midfielder Adam King on loan until January.
A week later and a third central midfielder, David Fox, put pen-to-paper after training with the Club for a number of weeks following his return to the North West after leaving Colchester.
Heading into the final days of July and the long-awaited competition for Ben Garratt was concluded, former Bristol City stopper Dave Richards penning a deal.
During the week heading into the first game of the season, Harry Davis was forced out of action for a month with injury, prompting Davis to snap up towering defender Ben Nugent from Cardiff City on a free transfer.
That was that for four weeks, but as the window neared an end - Davis completed another double swoop with Swansea left-back Stephen Kingsley joining for three months and Liverpool starlet Harry Wilson joining until January to give the squad a competitive edge.

OUTS
Following the conclusion of the 2014/15 campaign, Academy graduates Liam Nolan and Billy Waters were released.
Midfielder Anthony Grant, defender Anthony Stewart, forward Vadaine Oliver and goalkeeper Paul Rachubka were told his services were no longer required despite featuring heavily in the campaign.
Club Captain Matt Tootle was offered new terms after his contract expired, but he chose instead to move on and signed for League One newcomers Shrewsbury Town instead.
Alan Tate, Jamie Ness, Nicky Ajose, Uche Ikpeazu and Greg Leigh all saw their loan deals come to an end and return to their parent Clubs.
