Colclough Can Be A Game Changer

26 November 2015

Boss praises Coco's recent contribution as Crewe aim to move out of the bottom four.

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that Ryan Colclough is beginning to become a real game changer for us. Colclough, who is now leading the Crewe goalscoring charts with six goals in all competitions this season, was the stand our performer for the Railwaymen in Tuesday’s dramatic comeback at Colchester United.

After laying on great chances in the first half for Marcus Haber and James Jones, he the then scored our first goal on the hour mark and was involved in the equaliser after slipping in substitute Ryan Lowe to allow him to pull it back for Haber to score.

Colclough was unplayable at times and it was no coincidence that Colchester switched Callum Harriott to Coco’s side to double up on him.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Ryan does some great things when in possession and he can be that one who can do something out of nothing for us.

“Wherever we played him he was effective on Tuesday night and that is what we need him to be like on a consistent basis.

“Ryan has the ability to pop up and weave. He can try things and can lose possession at time but we want him to be positive in the final third.

He added: “We know he can improve on things defensively but we also know the ability he has to change games.”
