Club To Assess Osman

Abdul Osman suffers ankle injury which has him as a dobut for MK Dons

Crewe Alexandra will check on the injury to midfielder Abdul Osman after he was forced off during the club’s 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient. Osman suffered an ankle injury after being caught by Orient man Anthony Griffith who was booked for the offence and later shown a red card after lunging into a tackle on Luke Murphy.

Steve Davis is hoping that the former Northampton man will be fit and available for this weekend’s trip to MK Dons, especially with the squad limited on possible replacements in a central midfield role.

Steve told crewealex.net: “We will have to assess Abdul’s ankle early this week to see if he is going to be fit for the weekend. If not then we may have to look at doing something.

“The Orient player did come through and win the ball but he came through the back of him and that is an illegal challenge. He has come through and Abdul has gone over on his ankle and was unable to continue. He had ice on it straight away and we will have to see how it is.”

Meanwhile winger Byron Moore is expected to be available for the weekend after missing Saturday’s match on compassionate grounds. Moore was mourning the passing of a long-standing friend and was granted permission to miss the 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient.
