Boss hopes Crewe can be in the mix for Arsenal youngster

Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that he has spoken to Chuks Aneke and his representative about the possibility of the Arsenal youngster signing for us on a permanent basis.

The Alex boss admits that the club’s leading scorer from last season is sure to have options after impressively scoring 17 goals in League One, but he wants Crewe to be one of them.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I have spoken to Chuks and I am sure he and his agent will have a number of options to consider.

“We would like him and he knows he will continue to get his opportunities here. He will be patient and take his time. He is out of contract and will weigh up what is on offer.

 “His agent is intelligent enough to know that Chuks will have to go to a certain club to fit his style of play. I am sure they will come to the right decision but we will have to wait and see what materialises.”
