Business May Not Be Finished

Steve says there may still be movement in transfer window

Steve Davis is not ruling out the end of the club’s business in the January transfer market. The final window of the season ends on 2nd February for permanent signings, but Football League clubs are still permitted to conduct emergency loans after a short break.

The Crewe Alexandra boss have already allowed Lee Molyneux and Thierry Audel to leave the club by mutual consent and reserve goalkeeper Scott Shearer has joined Burton Albion on loan.

The boss has made young defender Perry NG available for loan in order for him to gain some first team experience and the Alex boss has not ruled out others going out this month or beyond.

Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “I am happy with the squad but you never know what can happen in the window. If a player becomes available, who we feel could make a difference to us or be one for the future then we would of course consider it.

“That was certainly the case with Anthony Stewart. The window is alive and kicking and we can still allow players out on loan after a short break as well in February.

“Maybe we will look to get one or two out and if one becomes available we could bring in but that will depend.

“The most important thing for me was to tie up our loan players. I am happy we have managed to do that and Uche Ikpeazu will be added to that list next week.

The boss added: “We have managed to keep the group together and I have been pleased with that.”
