Bunn Suffers Serious Injury

11 September 2012

Harry Bunn expected to miss the rest of the season with knee injury.

Harry Bunn has suffered severe knee ligament damage and is unlikely to play again this season. Bunn, 19, suffered the serious injury in Crewe’s 0-0 draw with Tranmere Rovers after landing awkwardly when chasing a long ball from Luke Murphy. He was instantly stretched off and visited a specialist yesterday.

Steve Davis, the Crewe Alexandra manager said: “Harry has suffered a serious injury to his right knee. He has suffered severe ligament damage around the lateral part of cruciate. He will possibly need a couple of operations and it will be a long rehabilitation process for him. I wouldn’t want to put a time scale on it but he is a young lad and will come back.

“Everyone at the club is gutted for him because he has come here to play football and has excited the fans with his performances. To have that taken away from him is a major disappointment to him.

“We have been in dialogue with Manchester City and he will have the very best consultants and surgeons there. Everyone associated with the club wishes him a speedy recovery because is a good player and a smashing lad.”
