Brandy Delighted To Be Staying

Febian Brandy pleased to extend his loan deal for a further month

Febian Brandy says he is eager to keep on playing his part in turning Crewe Alexandra’s season around after agreeing to extend his loan spell by another month. Championship side Rotherham have kindly agreed for the Manchester-born forward to remain at Gresty Road and continue to acquire match fitness after injury disrupted his pre-season and his start to the new season.

After overcoming a slight calf problem, the 25-year-old forward has started the club’s last two games and his inclusion has coincided with back-to-back wins.

On signing until November 23rd, Brandy told Crewe Alex Player: “I am delighted to have signed for another month and was happy to do that. I have been made to feel welcome by everyone and I’ve been able to play and express myself and that is what I wanted to do.

“I could have gone elsewhere after Rotherham said I was allowed to go out on loan, but I knew that Crewe played good football and I wanted to help. They were struggling for results at the time but that didn’t bother me because I knew they could turn that form around.

“I don’t think the last two results are down to me, not at all. I could see that the lads were determined to turn it around when I got here and that has come through hard work out of the training ground and sticking together.

“I could have gone to a club higher up the table and maybe that would have been the easier option but I knew the way Crewe played the game would suit me.

Febian added: “I have five more games and I will take it a game at a time. I have never looked too far forward in my career and I will see what happens after that.”
