Brad Still Part Of My Plans

Boss challenges Inman to play his way back into his team

Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that Brad Inman is still part of his plans despite his omission from the squad on Saturday at Bradford. Inman, 22, has made nine appearances for the Railwaymen this season, scoring twice but he hasn’t started a game since the 3-0 defeat to Rochdale in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Inman has not been able to repeat his fantastic individual performance against Bolton Wanders in the League Cup when he was comfortably our best performer on the night.

Inman was left out of the travelling squad for the trip to Bradford, but Steve Davis says he had to make a choice with his back-up forwards after George Cooper was handed his full debut.

Steve told crewealex.net: “I had a choice to make and Brad was the one to miss out. I had three forward players on the bench and I couldn’t stretch to four as I needed cover in other areas.

“I had Billy (Waters) and Febian to come on and add some fresh legs and we needed Vadaine as the big one in case anything happened to Marcus (Haber). I thought it was the right choice to suit us on the day.

“I’ve spoken to Brad’s agent and Brad and told them that he has to play himself back into the team. If he plays well and shows what he can do then he is still part of my plans here.

The boss added: “Brad needs a good week of training and we’ll see if he is contention for Saturday.”
