Brad Improvement Has To Continue

16 July 2014

Midfielder heading in the right direction

Steve Davis admits that he has been pleased with Bradden Inman’s early pre-season form. The Alex boss is looking to make the former Newcastle United trainee more dangerous in the final third of the pitch and the Scotland Under-21 International could prosper in one of the three attacking positions up for grabs.

Inman has scored in both friendly matches thus far against Norton United and Nantwich Town and although the boss is not reading too much into pre-season games, the boss has been pleased with Inman’s contribution so far.

Steve told crewealex.net: “We are trying to get Brad more involved in the play and make him more dangerous and he has scored two goals in two pre-season games, so we can’t ask for too much more than that.

“We are trying to utilise his strengths and improve his weaknesses. He knows he still has to work hard on the defensive side of his game but we have been pleased with him so far. He has to keep that going and hopefully he will continue to grow in confidence.

“Brad can be a real threat. He showed that in his first season with us. He didn’t have as good a season last time around and we are expecting more from him this season because we know how key he can be for us.

“We want him to be more dangerous, to run in behind and threaten the goal more and there are signs that he is going in the right direction.”
