Boss Targets Win For Final Home Game

29 April 2016

Steve Davis expects tough game against Doncaster Rovers as they aim to stay in the league.

Steve Davis expects a difficult final home game against Darren Ferguson’s Doncaster Rovers side tomorrow because our visitors need a victory to keep their hopes of remaining in League One alive.

Crewe Alexandra are looking for their first win since early February and Davis is determined to get back to winning ways as soon as possible in readiness for next season.

Ahead of our home game at the Alexandra Stadium, Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I am surprised by the position Doncaster find themselves in but like us, they have not won enough games this season.

“They need to win the game this weekend. We need to win because losing has become a bad habit for us. We need to change that as soon as we can. I want to change that mentality and get us back to winning games. If we can win games then that will only build momentum and restore confidence.

“Doncaster need to win and the pressure is all on them. That should make it a good game because it is not a damp squid because there is something riding on it. It gives us something to go for and if that means bringing Doncaster down with us, then so be it.

“They will know that there will be no favours coming from us because we need to win and get into a winning habit.”
