Steve Davis wants to add two or three experienced pros to assist his young squad.

Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that he wants to add ‘two or three’ experienced players to his young squad this summer. The Alex boss says he is bound to be in competition with other clubs to attract the right characters to the club.

Steve is determined to add more experience to his dressing room and talks are on-going with potential targets and their representatives as he looks to complete some early business.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I have no made secret of the fact that I would like to add some experience to the group. It is a young group and two or three senior pros would help us.

“They are not always easy to get because they have often been in the game for a long time and their wages go beyond us.

“If we can get the right people into the club then that will make a massive difference to us, because we need some good characters to work with the younger ones both on and off the pitch.

He added: “The senior players can set a good example and when things get tough in games, then they will help with their experience. We have lacked that this season."
