28 April 2015

Davis to make slight adjustment to training to cope wioth 12.15pm kick off.

.Steve Davis says he will slightly alter training to give his players a chance to adapt to an early kick-off this Sunday. Crewe kick off at 12.15pm against Bradford City this Sunday and Davis admits it is not ideal having not played at this time before

The Alex boss will request that the players come into training later on a certain day and will commence training at 12.15pm to recreate what their bodies will expect this weekend.

Steve and his staff have been assessing ideas for a while once they knew that the fixture time was going to be switched for television purposes.

Ahead of this weekend’s final fixture, Steve said: “It is an early kick off and no-one is really used to playing at that time. It is not ideal because you play at 3pm or at night all season but it is something you have to get on with.

“We are planning for kicking off almost three hours earlier than usual and although training will be no different, we may look at the timing so the players can get used to playing at that time.

“The week has increased by a day and it will change our pattern a bit but we will be ready for the game and ready for the earlier kick-off.”
