Steve decides to go with youngsters over Inman and Molyneux

Steve Davis has revealed to the club’s official web-site that he elected to select youngsters George Cooper and James Jones instead of the more senior players Brad Inman and Lee Molyneux for tactical reasons. Inman and Molyneux were left at home as Crewe Alexandra picked up a valuable point at Yeovil Town last night.

Inman came on as a substitute against Port Vale on Saturday but Davis chose to name young James Jones instead for the long trip to Somerset. Molyneux was not named in the 18 either after previously missing the Port Vale game at the weekend.

Steve told crewealex.net: “I chose to leave both Brad and Lee out and bring the two younger ones instead.

“James and George have continued to work hard in training and have an excellent attitude to the work and they deserved to travel and be here with us.

“Brad came on against Port Vale and didn’t make the impact I wanted him to have. I explained the situation to him and I’ve explained the situation to Lee. That is the decision I made and it is up to me to try and get the best out of the group.”
