Boss Expecting Similar Encounter Against Millwall

28 January 2016

Steve Davis says he expects in-form Lions to be similar to Bury.

Steve Davis expects a similar type of game against promotion hunters Millwall this weekend to that of Bury on Tuesday night. Crewe had to show great levels of resolve to contain a Bury side containing the physicality of Leon Clarke and Tom Pope.

With Ben Garratt in exception form as well at Gigg Lane, Crewe obtained a valuable point and now travel to the New Den hoping to build on two unbeaten games against the Shakers and previously Wigan Athletic.

Steve Davis told the crewealex.net: “I expect a very similar game against Millwall to that of Bury in mid-week. We know what to expect and we know that their crowd helps them as well. Our players will have to contend with that and they are experienced enough to handle that.

“We go into the game on the back of two decent results and the performance against a strong Wigan team was one of our best of the season.

“We played well against one of the top sides that day so that should give us confidence going into the Millwall game.

“The players showed a different side of their game against Bury and had to because of the amount of balls going into our box. We had to really dig in and it was a good result for us.”
