Boss Aims For Big Reaction

Steve Davis wants his player to show character in wake of heavy Posh defeat

Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis says he is after a big, big reaction from his players after we suffered our heaviest defeat of the season at home to Peterborough on Saturday. The Alex will be looking to record a third away win of the season at Colchester this evening and Steve says his players should be determined to erase the memory of Saturday’s 5-1 defeat.

Ahead of this evening’s game in Essex, the Alex boss told crewealex.net: “It was a really tough day for everyone on Saturday, particularly in that second half. Everything we spoke about and tried to implement at half-time was gone within the first few minutes of the second half.

“It became a really tough day and we have gone away and picked the bones from it. The players won’t need reminding of what is expected from them after a performance like that and I am expecting a big, big reaction from them.

He added: “We knew Peterborough were a good side and it would be difficult but we know that we could and really should have done better than that. Now is an opportunity for us to try and get some points against a side that is in around us in the league.”
