Baillie Could Be In Line For Full Debut

30 October 2014

Youngster could be called upon to deputise for captain Tootle

If club captain Matt Tootle doesn’t shake off a bout of illness in time to travel to Crawley this weekend then youngster James Baillie could be set for his full debut for the club. Baillie has already marked his debut for the club this season when coming on as second half substitute for Jon Guthrie at Fleetwood on the opening day of the season.

Although he has been named on the substitutes’ bench on a couple more occasions in the early part of the season, he has been not been called upon again at first-team level. The Warrington-born right-back could deputise for Tootle, who could lose his ever-present record this weekend.

Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “If Matt doesn’t make it then it could be another chance for young James.

“He played well against Forest on Monday and he believes he is ready if we need so that is a real positive. James has already made his debut on the opening day of the season but he could make his full debut and that would be a very special day for him and his family.”
