Attention Quickly Switched To Crawley

Boss says players quickly moved on from Bramall Lane success with big game coming up

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says he enjoyed his weekend following the club’s fantastic 2-1 at over Sheffield United, but he states that the high of a first ever win at Bramall Lane was quickly put in bed on Monday morning. The Alex boss says that attention quickly switched to Dean Saunders’ Crawley Town on Good Friday.

Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “We quickly move on and focus on the next one. We didn’t dwell too much on the Oldham game and it is the same with the Sheffield United result.

“We achieved a fantastic result in Sheffield but our focus quickly turned to Crawley and what we need to do to get a result from that one.

“We don’t get carried away with ourselves. I like the players to be on a level. I don’t want them too high when we win or too low if we lose. I like to be on an even keel and hopefully that rubs off on the players.

“We were all delighted with the Sheffield result but our concentration has firmly been on Crawley and that started soon after the final whistle on Saturday.”
