Former captain David Artell becomes our new Academy Operations Manager

Crewe Alexandra can confirm that our former captain David Artell has replaced Michael Jolley as part of our Academy back room team.

Artell, 33, will take over as the club’s Elite Player Performance Academy Operations Manager after previously holding a coaching position at the club.

The Wrexham defender captained Crewe Alexandra to promotion back in 2012 before leaving to join Port Vale that summer.

Jolley, 37, has joined newly promoted Premier League side Burnley as their Under-21 coach. Everyone at Crewe wishes Mike all the best with his new challenge at Turf Moor and we are delighted to announce Artell’s new position within our Academy structure.
