Ajose: "I've Got Unfinished Business"

8 January 2015

Nicky Ajose says he always wanted to come back here despite other interest

On-loan forward Nicky Ajose has told Crewe Alex Player that he had other clubs interested in taking him on loan following his success at Crewe. Ajose has scored three goals in five games during his initial loan spell with the club and Steve Davis acted quickly to make sure we had the Leeds United marksman with us for the remainder of the season.

Ajose, 23, chose to remain at Gresty Road after enjoying his spell at the club and he is determined to keep playing regularly and make sure the Railwaymen survive at this level.

Ajose exclusively told Crewe Alex Player: “I’m delighted to have got something sorted now, so I’m looking forward to concentrating on my football and hopefully we can carry on where we left off and carry on the good run of results we’ve had recently.

“I had a few options, but if it was possible and the clubs could agree something, then I always wanted to stay here.

“I started off quite well and I still feel like I’ve got more to offer, so I guess it feels like a bit of unfinished business. To be able to get something sorted so quickly was pleasing for me.

Nicky added: “We’re down there at the moment, but there’s enough quality in this squad for us to pull away from danger and the Gillingham game is going to be a big chance for us to prove that and carry on our good form that we built up.”
