A Relaxed Coco Will Help Us

27 August 2015

Boss pleased that a more focussed Ryan Colclough will improve his team.

Steve Davis believes that there is more to come from Ryan Colclough following his opening goal of the season at home to Bury last week. Colclough, 20, was in the right place at the right time to poach home a knock down from Ben Nugent following a Billy Bingham free-kick as Crewe were held to a 3-3 draw by the Shakers.

The Crewe Alexandra boss says that having resolved his future before the start of the season, Colclough is more relaxed and focussed firmly on his football.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We had to start the season without Ryan because he missed a number of games in the pre-season as he sorted out his future. He was playing catch up a bit in terms of his match fitness but he has started the last two games.

“I think that Ryan has become more relaxed and focussed now that his future has been resolved. All that off the pitch stuff didn’t help him in the pre-season but he is now focussed on what he wants to do on the pitch.

“We were delighted he re-signed for us and he made the right decision because all he wants to do is play football.

“He possesses that skill and ability around the box that can open up defences and can be a match winner for us. He is also working hard on his defending and becoming better at that. He knows his responsibilities and knows he can improve aspects of his game.”
