A Chance For Ollie?

25 October 2012

Could the young midfielder get a start against Yeovil?

Crewe Alexandra assistant manager Neil Baker has indicated that young midfielder Ollie Turton could get his chance in Saturday’s game with Yeovil. The Altrincham based academy graduate replaced Abdul Osman at half-time in Tuesday’s win over Swindon and with Osman still struggling with an ankle injury, Turton may get his chance.

With loan midfielder Andy Bond unlikely to feature in the game due to a groin injury, and Osman doubtful, Baker revealed that the club have made enquirers about adding to their squad.

But should the Railwaymen not be able to complete a loan signing before the visit of the Glovers, Turton should get his chance in the game.

Bakes told Crewe Alex Player: “Abdul got another whack on his ankle. We will see how he is, but the chances are is that we will be sweating on his fitness going in to the Yeovil game. We do have Andy Bond still available but he isn’t fit.

“So we have made a couple of enquiries about players, but if they come to nothing the chances are that we will give Ollie a go. He knows the role well, and did okay when he came on against Swindon.

H“He is going in the right way. He did what we hoped he would do on Tuesday, and in time we hope he can do better."
