Boss says his side's work rate worth place in the hat for round two

Steve Davis is delighted to be in the hat for the second round of the FA Cup after a battling display forced a replay with Sheffield United after a 0-0 draw.

The Blades looked more likely to score throughout, but Davis praised his side’s grit and determination in keeping the high-flying side at bay.

Steve said: “I thought it was good game. Tactically it was good and we had to change it early in the game because we couldn’t cope with the width and that helped us a little bit.

“It was just about containing first half then getting into half-time to see what we could do. We put Joner on to help us in there and I thought he did very well.

“I thought we played much better second half without any real penetration - both teams suffered a little bit with that today.

“They probably had a little bit more possession in front of us , but they didn’t get in behind us too often, just the once or twice. A lot of crosses into the box that we dealt with very well, but we just need to see how we can be more dangerous against them when we go there.

“The work rate was fantastic. That was the bottom line and I felt like we deserved to be in the hat for the second round because of that.”
