Aneke links up with Belgian top-flight side after leaving Arsenal

Forward Chuks Aneke has completed his move to Belgium pro league side SV Zulte Waregem after leaving Arsenal following the expiration of his contract.

Chuks made a huge impression at Crewe Alexandra whilst on loan over both the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons - scoring 16 goals for us over the last campaign that proved vital in keeping the club in Sky Bet League One.

Based in the Belgian city of Waregem, Zulte play in the country's top flight and finished fourth last season, qualifying for the Europa League in the process. They also competed in last year's Europa League, facing a Wigan Athletic side that featured Nick Powell in the group stage - drawing 0-0 in Belgium before winning 2-1 at the DW Stadium.

On the move, Chuks told the Zulte Waregem official website: "“This is a great opportunity for me and I will do my best to take it as soon as possible. I think Belgian football will suit my playing style.

“Zulte Waregem give opportunities to young players and the club, after some good conversations, was a logical choice for my future development.”

Everyone at Crewe Alexandra would like to place on record their thanks to Chuks for his contribution and would like to wish him all the best in Belgium, and Europe, this season.
