"We Have To Match Blackpool's Energy"

23 September 2016

Steve expects Blackpool to be much higher in the table come the end of the season.

Steve Davis says his in-form Crewe Alexandra side will have to match Blackpool’s high intensity and energetic approach if we are going to extent our unbeaten run this weekend.

Having come down with us from League One last season, Gary Bowyer is beginning to re-shape his squad for a promotion push.

Davis has been impressed with the Seasiders this season and believes that they should have had more points than they currently have.

Ahead of this weekend’s game at Gresty Road, Steve told us: “Blackpool are a good side and we know it won’t be easy. We haven’t come off the pitch this season and said well that was easy. It doesn’t happen. You have to earn the right to play and you have to earn every point.

“Blackpool are a powerful and well organised team. They have some big lads but they can also play some really good football. They can mix it up and play longer when they need to and that is a good advantage to have.

“They have controlled many of their games this season and they should have more points than they currently have. They have dominated some games but not quite got the win.

He added: “I am sure that once they get on a run that they will much higher in the table by the end of the season. They are a good side, who play with a lot of energy. “
