Steve: "We Can Become Tougher To Beat"

25 August 2016

Boss challenges his players to become even more resilient after letting Blackburn lead slip.

. Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says there is still room for improvement when it comes to the resilience of his team. Steve has been pleased with the way his side have approached the games on the front foot this season but disappointed that we have been unable to keep leads against Hartlepool, Newport and on Tuesday evening at Blackburn Rovers in the EFL Cup

As Crewe prepare to travel to Cheltenham for this weekend’s League Two fixture, Steve said: “We have shown resilience at times, especially when we came back at Blackburn after conceding that late goal but there is still room for improvement there.

“Some of the players, especially the younger ones can develop that side of their game. They have to cope with things better when we are up against it and things have become difficult. They have to show that toughness when things are not going well.

He added: “We have struggled to hang on to a few leads this season, so there is room for improvement there from everyone.”
