Steve: "Difficult Call On Udoh Introduction"

20 October 2016

Steve Davis says it was a difficult call not to change things up front at Meadow Lane.

Steve Davis has admitted that it is sometimes difficult to consider withdrawing either of his two more experienced strikers. The Alex boss was tempted to introduce Daniel Udoh as a late substitute against Notts County but he resisted the chance mainly due to the work ethic of Lowe and Dagnall.

Udoh recently scored twice for the club’s Under-23s away at Coventry City and had a late chance to win the game against Mansfield Town for the first team, but hit the side-netting.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I did consider a change up front on Saturday in the second half, but Lowey and Daggers are vastly experienced and you just feel that if they get a chance, nine times out ten they tuck it away.

minute, score a goal and win you the game. They also work tremendously hard for the team and give you something going the other way.th“They are more likely to pop up in the 94

“It was a difficult call to make because Daniel is also capable of coming off the bench and getting us a goal as well. He did that at Accrington for us. Who knows what might happen, but in the end I decided to stick with the more experience to see the game through.”
