Positive news in regards to Liam's ankle injury.

Crewe Alexandra’s on-loan midfielder Liam Smith has suffered extensive bone bruising of the ankle which will rule him out for a number of weeks - but from a really positive viewpoint, the MRI scan undertaken today has shown no fracture or ligament damage.

The on-loan Newcastle youngster suffered the injury in the closing stages of our 1-1 draw with Bolton on Friday evening. The 20-year-old was stretched off and the club feared he had suffered a major injury after being called on the ankle by the Bolton substitute Alex Samizadeh.
