Steve still targeting extended season
Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis has insisted that the pre-season aim of making the play-offs is still very much the aim, despite recent disappointing results.
The Alex have won just one of the last five in the league & were knocked out of the FA Cup at the first hurdles, but the boss has remained bullish in the belief he has in his players.
Steve said: "I believe that this group of players is good enough to get into the play-offs.
"I said that to them at the start before we played a game. I see them every day, I see what they're capable of every day.
"I think now & again some of them lack a little bit of belief in themselves & each other, but on the whole, I think what we've got is a squad that are good enough to be in the play-offs. With consistency we can achieve that together."
