Steve Davis says weekend opponents will be targetting a rare home win

The struggles of Leyton Orient this season reflect what a tough division League Two has become according to boss Steve Davis. Crewe travel to London this weekend hoping to end a run of seven games without a win but a victory for the O’s would take them to within a point of Crewe. It remains that tight in League Two.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Leyton Orient has changed dramatically over the last few seasons with the new Italian owners coming in.

“Every club is different and how they run it is completely down to them. They probably haven’t had the stability they would have wanted with different managers coming and going but that is happening more and more in the game.

“Managers are not given time and it is about getting instant results. It is all a bit short-term and not so much about giving a manager time to development players, building a team or implementing a structure and business model.

“The struggles of Orient over the last few seasons shows that this is a tough league. It is not easy.
They were on the verge of reaching the Championship not so long ago and lost out in the play-offs.

“The league is relentless, physical and there are good coaches, who set their teams up to make sure they are difficult to beat. We have faced some powerful teams and we have to meet that challenge.”
