Steve says no further development on talks with Garratt and Guthrie.

Steve Davis has revealed that there has been no further movement on the contract talks involving defender Jon Guthrie and goalkeeper Ben Garratt. The Alex boss is hoping to tie up the youngsters’ future and the club have made initial contact with the players’ representatives.

Davis revealed last week that both players are considering their offers.

Steve told crewealex.net: "We haven't had anything back on that yet. The club will sit down with Jon's agent when that can be arranged. We’ll have to wait and see. They are mulling things over. They are both important, we want to get them both sorted.

“I’d have thought that time is ticking on and we just want to know where we are going to be. It is important for our forward planning.

 “We are keen to keep them and get them to accept their offers. They are both doing well but they are not ready to go in my opinion.”
