Kiwomya Back in Frame After Illness

28 March 2017

Alex Kiwomya returns after missing Carlisle win due to illness.

Alex Kiwomya is back in contention for a place in the Crewe Alexandra squad this weekend after overcoming a bout of illness. The on-loan Chelsea forward missed the 2-0 win at Carlisle after being unable to train towards the end of last week due to a virus but he is over the worst and has successfully returned to training.

Striker Jordan Bowery was also feeling unwell but managed to play his part in the 2-0 win at Brunton Park. Bowery scored the club’s second goal before being replaced late on.

David Artell explained to the club’s official web-site: “Alex was unwell and that is why he wasn’t in the squad on Saturday. He is okay now and is back training.

“Jordan was also not 100%. He had been struggling with illness but managed to play most of the game. He was really under the weather but played his part. He got through it okay.

“Jordan wasn’t as bad as Alex but he is back in frame now.”
