What the press made of the Exeter defeat

The Chronicle
Crewe Alex were crushed by promotion-chasing Exeter City and slipped to 21st in League Two on Saturday.
The rampant home side extended their winning run to seven games with goals from David Wheeler (2), Jordan Moore-Taylor and Lloyd James at St James Park.
Crewe had sub Charlie Kirk shown a straight red card for a reckless challenge late on as David Artell’s men dropped to four points from the bottom two.
They have now not won in 11 games and have become joint lowest scorers in the fourth tier.

Exeter Express & Echo
Exeter City made it seven wins on the bounce in fine style as they thumped Crewe Alexandra 4-0.
City took an early lead through Jordan Moore-Taylor but lost Ollie Watkins midway through the first half to injury.
After a brilliant double save from goalkeeper Christy Pym, David Wheeler netted a brace – becoming the first ever City player to score in seven consecutive matches – and Lloyd James finished things off with a fine long-range goal.
