What the press made of the Grecians win

Crewe Alex made it back-to-back home wins with a 2-0 success at the expense of Exeter City on Saturday.
The Railwaymen made it three wins in succession when goals from Alex Kiwomya and Danny Hollands did the damage.
The points took Crewe into the League Two play-off places – but it was an unconvincing display as the visitors were in charge for long spells.
The Alex were very sloppy in possession in the first half and were lucky not to be punished for giving the ball away in dangerous areas.
At the break the sides were separated by Kiwomya’s goal, after he ran onto George Cooper’s pass and lashed home.
They could have had more after Chris Dagnall rounded the keeper but missed the open goal.
Exeter dominated the second half but lacked the finisher they needed to draw level.
And as the game opened up later on Hollands ran through and notched his first for the club.

CREWE Alexandra made it back-to-back home wins for the first time since February 2015 with a 2-0 home win over Exeter City that moved them in to the play-off places.
Goals from Alex Kiwomya and a late Danny Hollands goal proved to be the difference, but Crewe certainly rode their luck on the way to victory.
Kiwomya's goal in the 23rd minute put Crewe ahead as he picked up his fourth of the season.The Chelsea loanee ran on to a lovely
dinked through ball from George Cooper, before finding the corner after steading himself.
Chris Dagnall should have put his side 2-0 up, but could only fire wide of the far post after rounding the goalkeeper. The striker also had an effort crash off the woodwork, in what was a frustrating afternoon in front of goal.
The same could be said of Exeter, who will have wondered how they didn't manage to score before the did, with Jack Stacey hitting the crossbar, as well as Ryan Harley, Ollie Watkins and Joel Grant all going close and Robbie Simpson missing a golden chance from inside the six yard box.

Exeter City suffered a fifth defeat in seven as they went down 2-0 to an impressive Crewe Alexandra at Gresty Road on Saturday.
The Grecians had dominated long periods of the game but missed a host of chances, with the slick hosts giving them a lesson in finishing.
City now have a week to pick themselves up and dust themselves down before the Devon derby with Plymouth Argyle.
