Chris Dagnall Signs For The Alex

5 July 2016

Crewe delighted to announce the signing of Chris Dagnall on a two-year deal.

Crewe Alexandra Football Club is delighted to announce that the Liverpool-born striker Chris Dagnall has become Steve Davis’ third signing of the summer.

The 30-year-old has signed a two-year deal at the Alexandra Stadium after he left Scottish Cup Winners Hibernian in the summer. Dagnall was an unused substitute in the final as Hibs defeated Glasgow Rangers 3-2 at Hampden Park.

Before joining Hibs back in December, the former Leyton Orient, Tranmere Rovers and Barnsley forward had enjoyed a successful spell in the Indian Super League with Kerala Blasters where he scored six goals in 13 games.

Dagnall started his career with Tranmere Rovers before joining Rochdale in 2006. During his career, he has also represented Scunthorpe United and Bradford City and Coventry City on loan. He has scored over 118 career goals from his 450 appearances.

Crewe Alexandra fans may well remember Dagnall scoring a brace against us at Gresty Road just two days after signing for Leyton Orient back in January 2014. He replaced Robbie Simpson as a substitute and his two goals gave Orient a 2-1 win to send them to the top of League One.

The deal is subject to International clearance following Chris' spell north of the border.
