Bowery Gives Us A Different Dimension

Alex boss on his new loan signing Jordan Bowery.

David Artell believes that his new loan signing Jordan Bowery will give his Crewe Alexandra side a different dimension in the final third of the pitch. Bowery, 25, has signed on loan until the end of the season from Leyton Orient and the new Crewe boss says his remit is simple, to create and score goals.

On completing his first signing as a manager, Artell said: “Jordan is a good player and at a good age. He is not too young and he is not too old. He has a good character and all the attributes to be a centre forward.

“He can hold it up, he can play to feet or he can run in behind. When you can do all three then you are going to be a real asset. He wants to get his career back on track. He has struggled a bit at Leyton Orient but that isn’t all his fault, if I am being honest.

“I’ve spoken to people in the game about him and they say he has a good character. I’ve spoken to Westy (Ash Westwood) at Villa and we have spoken with the physio there as well and there is no history of any serious injury.

“I’ve also spoken to various managers and people I know about him and it has all been positive. Now the trick is for us to get the best out of him.

“I’ve told him and it’s a simple message, like it has been with all the players, and that it is his job to create and score goals for us.

He added: “What he will do is give us a different dimension. He will give us something different and he wanted to come here and is hungry to do well.”
