Boss Surprised By Orient Home Form

28 October 2016

Steve Davis says O's are better than their league position suggests.

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says he has been surprised by Leyton Orient’s home form this season. The O’s have won just one of their seven home games this season, losing six.

Crewe travel to the Matchroom Stadium this weekend aiming to end a run of seven games without a win themselves but Davis says that Orient are better than their league position suggests.

Ahead of our trip to London, Steve told us: “Leyton Orient have made a slow start to the season but they had a good result at Hartlepool last week. That will give them some confidence.

“They have struggled a bit at home but I am surprised by that. The video we have seen of them, they are a good side, with good players. I am sure they are surprised by the results they have had at home and they will be looking to put that right.

“We have to try and use that to our advantage. If we can play well and get the first goal then it makes it more difficult for them to play in front of their home supporters.

“We have had some decent results away from home. We have had a couple of wins, a couple of losses and drawn three. We could have had more points than we have. If the decision goes our way at Notts County then we could well have gone on to win that one.

“I thought we were the better side for 70 minutes at Luton, which is always a tough place to go, so we could have four or five points more and that would see us right up there.

He added: “We have to go there and put on a strong performance.”
