Boss Hopes Dagnall Will Enjoy Orient Return

28 October 2016

Steve says striker will be determined to do well against his former club this weekend.

Steve Davis is sure that Crewe forward Chris Dagnall will receive a good reception from the Leyton Orient supporters this weekend. Dagnall returns to his former club for the first time and Davis says that his work ethic and goal record during his short spell with the O's will still have seen him establish a strong affinity with the Orient fans.

Dagnall scored 20 goals in 74 games for the club as they pushed towards promotion to the Championship. Sadly, Dagnall missed a decisive penalty for the O’s in the play-off final penalty shoot-out that saw Rotherham United promoted instead.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I hope Daggers goes back to his former club and does well. I’m sure he will be looking to perform well and I hope he celebrates if he scores. He will want to perform well in-front of his former supporters and it is nice to go back.

“There will be an affinity there because he is the type of player who always gives his all for the cause and his goal record was good during the short time he was there.

“I wouldn’t have thought there are too many players who are still there from when Daggers was there but he will still be looking forward to going back.”
