Alex boss says Dagnall and Lowe having desired impact on young group.

Steve Davis says that his lieutenants on the pitch, Ryan Lowe and Chris Dagnall, are already having the desired effect both on and off the field. The Alex boss was determined to bring in some experienced players this summer to help the young group and he has been delighted by the impact the two forwards have had.

As the Crewe first-team prepare for our final warm-up friendly against Lincoln City this weekend, Steve told us: “Daggers and Lowey are like my two lieutenants on the pitch. That is a good description of them because they are role models to the young ones.

“Ryan and Chris can guide the young ones. They are well respected and the players to listen to the, because they have been there and done it over a long period of time.

“The young ones are taking on board what they say. They encourage them when they need to and are not afraid to let them know when they are not happy about something. Their standards and work ethic is rubbing off on the others around them.”
