Artell: "You Cannot Be Swayed Emotionally"

29 March 2017

Boss says it is important to keep a level head when things go right or wrong.

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell has told the club’s official web-site that his side are still inspired by the blips they have encountered under his tenure.

The Alex boss has managed to steer the Railwaymen away from the danger zone but he says it’s important that the players are reminded of ‘bad days’ against Hartlepool and Newport County.

Crewe host Cambridge United this weekend and Artell will be hoping that his in-form team can increase their winning spell to five wins out of six games.

The Alex boss told crewealex.net: “I think it is important that you remember the bad days and the disappointments because things can change very quickly. You have to remember the second half performances against Hartlepool and Newport or that we threw the Stevenage game away by conceding from two set plays.

“You have to remember the good ones as well and not to swayed one way or another. You cannot get emotionally involved and swayed by one good result or performance or one bad defeat.

“The lads have put a great little run together and they deserve the plaudits. It is all about trying to make them as consistent as possible. That comes through the preparation and them continuing to play with the confidence they have been doing.”
