David Artell has revealed that he has already spoken to one or two of his potential transfer targets. The Alex boss and his staff have been working hard to pinpoint new recruits for his squad and he now has to target another midfielder following Danny Hollands’ decision to return south after a successful spell with us. The 31-year-old wishes to be closer to his young family.
The Crewe boss has set a deadline of Monday for his out of contract defenders, Jon Guthrie, Georrge Ray, Ollie Turton and Perry Ng. Crewe would receive compensation if Ray and Ng choose not to sign because they are under the age of 24.
Artell told the club’s official web-site: “I have spoken to one or two and there are some still playing football, so it is only right that they focus on that. We cannot comment on that at the moment but we have spoken to a few and we will see where that takes us.”
