Boss reveals that Guthrie is playing through the pain barrier for the cause.

David Artell has revealed that Jon Gurthrie has a minor problem that has resulted in him being nursed through games and training. Guthrie has been replaced in two of the club’s last three matches to be replaced at left-back by Zoumana Bakayogo and the Crewe Alexandra boss says that he will continue to be assessed.

Artell told the club’s official web-site: “Jon has a minor problem and we are managing that. We are dealing with it and it is something that has come up in the mix.

“We consider his welfare and plan according. We are doing that day-to-day with him and he is fine and is good to go on Saturday.”
