Artell: "No Celebrating From Me"

24 April 2017

Boss pleased to be safe but he says we have nothing to celebrate after 'depressing' season.

David Artell is pleased that the football club has secured our EFL status after finally breaking through the 50-point mark with a comfortable 3-0 win over Leyton Orient at the weekend, but the demanding Crewe boss says there will be no celebrating from him.

Following the 3-0 win over the O’s at the weekend, Artell said: “It is pleasing to be safe and to be in this league again next season but there won’t be any celebrating from me.

“The aim wasn’t to stay in the league in August and it wasn’t my aim when I took over either. We want to do much better next season.

“We are hoping to give our supporters better performances because at times, this season has been a bit depressing.

“We will go out in the final two games, looking for the 3 points in both of them. We will be doing exactly the same.

Dave added: “We now have to travel to Plymouth and they have been promoted so that will be a good marker for us. “
