Artell: "Keith Signed Me Twice"

22 March 2017

David Artell previews Carlisle test this weekend

David Artell believes that his Crewe Alexandra side face a tough opponent in the form of promotion chasing Carlisle United this weekend. Keith Curle’s side may have dropped out of the automatic promotion places but they remain handily placed to feature in the play-offs and Artell expects a tough encounter.

Carlisle may be looking for their first win in six games this weekend, but Artell says that his Crewe side will have to be on their game again if we are to secure a third straight win on the road.

Artell said: “Carlisle have found it difficult to sustain their early season form but they are still a very good side and are still in a good position in the play-offs.

“They have good players and play the right way. I know Keith. He signed me twice. He is a good guy and a football guy. It will be good to see him again.

“It will be a tough afternoon on Saturday, even more so if are not at it. We have been good away from home at Portsmouth and Crawley and I want that to continue. If we play like we can then we have no need to fear anyone in this division.

Dave added: “We have had two outstanding performances away from home and I am looking for the players to produce that level of performance again.”
