He added: "To be fair thought we restricted them to a handful of chances and George (Ray) has slipped for the goal to let him in. Its not his fault that's life. They showed great character out there. No more so than Jonah. We haven't practiced them, it was who fancied it and he did."

"They all showed that passion and desire and I'm proud to be their manager. That is what I expect every game and we were against a top team. They have been up there for most of the season and we had to grind out a result. They probably looked the more likely when they scored with 15 minutes left but they hung in there and got their rewards with the penalty. If you get barged in the box, its a penalty. Their lad has given the referee the chance to give it and he had. As much as they think its soft I thought it was a penalty.

"Its a great shot in the arm when you get an early goal They have come here on Tuesday night, so its up to ask to ask them the questions and get on the front foot. We got in front and it was a great finish again from Daggers. He showed a real determination to get in there and his shot was too powerful. It was nearly a really good save from their keeper. It was him having that belief that he was going to score and he smacked it and it paid off. It's three in two for him so credit to him.

"Its a double at home and only one goal conceded in three home games and we have scored seven goals, so plenty to be positive about.

Following the 2-1 win, Artell said: "It was a really hard earned victory and so much more impressive than Saturday in lots of ways. Saturday was a great performance but everything we didn't have to show on Saturday because of our superiority we had to show tonight. We had it in our spades, the attitude, that never-say-die attitude has got the three points. That is it. Have we played well with the ball? Have we hell, we haven't. There is an area for improvement. We were excellent with the ball on Saturday but we had to show the other side of the game tonight. It was a real battle.

David Artell says he was more impressed with his side's showing tonight than he was against Grimsby on Saturday because his side had to really stand up and be counted against a strong and physical Wycombe outfit. The Railwaymen had to really dig in at times and show some real resilience to make sure we held on for a second successive home win. James Jones held his nerve from the penalty spot with only a few minutes left to give us a fantastic 2-1 win and another three home points.
